Chronic Enteropathy and Inflammatory Bowel Disease in Cats and Dogs: Diagnosis and Treatment

We will focus on the appropriate diagnostic workup and conservative therapeutic trials before considering biopsies and a histopathologic diagnosis of a chronic enteropathy or inflammatory bowel disease in cats and dogs. We will discuss possible histopathologic outcomes and navigating additional tests to make a final diagnosis when appropriate. We will discuss standard treatment options as well as medical options for certain individuals with steroid intolerance or contraindications or patients with refractory disease.
