Ultrasonography: Does It Belong in General Practice?

The short answer is YES!! The purpose of this lecture is to describe the benefits and uses of abdominal ultrasound to the general practitioner. From image acquisition to the uses of ultrasound, the modality requires some training, but is non-invasive and provides a rapid assessment especially when radiographs are inconclusive.
