What to do During Opioid "Shortages": Pain Relief Options for Small Animal Surgery Patients

This presentation will allow better understanding of why certain opioids are less available than they were previously.  It will demonstrate some downfalls of opioid use (hard to believe but there are some!!!) and why opioids may not be warranted as solo or as main pain relievers in our small animal surgical patients.  Finally, it will provide/discuss/illustrate some suggestions to reduce opioid use, improve patient care, and maintain attention to analgesia in a more balanced approach in day to day practice for small animal patients.
