This session explores the use of nutraceuticals in the management of gastrointestinal diseases in dogs and cats as sole therapy, as crucial component of therapy, or as adjunctive therapy. Intestinal, hepatic, and exocrine pancreatic conditions will be explored.
- Understand the management of EPI using pancreatic enzyme replacement therapy (PERT) and cobalamin supplementation
- Understand the management of cobalamin deficiency with cobalamin supplementation
- Be able to define the value of hepatoprotective therapy in dogs and cats with chronic hepatobiliary conditions
