In this 50 minute, live, interactive lecture, Dr. Sara E. Gonzalez, DVM, MS, DABVP (Canine and Feline Practice) will review key features of canine influenza and make sure your patients don't go viral! Following a discussion of the prevalence of the various pathogens implicated in canine infectious respiratory disease complex (CIRDC), the audience will delve deeper into the pathogenesis of Canine Influenza Virus (CIV). Key concepts regarding RNA particle vaccine technology will presented, with an emphasis on its use in the prevention of CIV.

  • Audience members will be knowledgeable about the prevalence of canine respiratory disease pathogens.
  • Participants will review the epidemiologic history of CIV, including which variants are currently of clinical significance.
  • Audience members will be familiar with the pathology associated with CIV infection.
  • Participants will understand the mechanism and safety of RNA particle vaccines.
  • The participants will be able to generate a CIV vaccine protocol.
