Cardiovascular disease in cats and dogs is common and anesthesia in these patients can be challenging. In order to ensure the best patient care, the anesthetist must be intimately familiar with pathophysiology of cardiac disease as well as detailed pharmacological aspects of various analgesic and anesthetic drugs.
