Anesthesia & the Veterinary Dental Patient

November 06, 2025
Downtown Theater
Anesthesia , Technician , Dentistry

This session reviews anesthetic principles and systemic disease management for dental patients. Many patients undergoing oral health assessments are older and have concurrent conditions that complicate anesthesia. By reinforcing understanding of anesthetic protocols and co-morbid disease impacts, this program equips veterinarians and technicians to improve safety and outcomes. Topics include anesthetic phases, monitoring, and case-based discussions of cardiovascular, endocrine, renal, hepatic, neurological, and respiratory considerations. Participants will gain confidence in creating balanced anesthetic plans that minimize morbidity and enhance recovery.

  • ● Understand and apply core anesthetic principles to reduce patient risk.
  • ● Recognize the impact of systemic diseases on anesthesia and patient management.
  • ● Develop comprehensive, individualized anesthetic plans for dental patients.
  • ● Strengthen monitoring and recovery protocols for improved outcomes.
