Knowing the evidence-based benefits and risks of home-prepared and commercial diets can help families make the most informed decision for their pets. This session will cover owner motivations, research updates, and tools to allow for easier and more informed client conversations about pet nutrition. Participants will walk away with strategies and resources to answer commonly asked questions about kibble, fresh, raw, and home-prepared diets.

By the end of this lecture, participants will be able to:

  • Define and differentiate various feeding methods such as kibble, raw, fresh, and home-prepared diets for pets.
  • Identify resources and tools for providing evidence-based pet nutrition information to clients.
