This presentation will provide an overview of animal related laws, both in New York and other states to help veterinarians identify suspected animal related abuse in their daily practice. The presentation will further discuss how and when veterinarians can report suspected abuse to law enforcement, the role of the veterinarian in an animal cruelty prosecution, as well as provide practical tips for preparing an expert veterinary report and CV.
