Dr. Fischer obtained her veterinary degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2001. After completing a large animal internship at the University of Georgia in 2002, she entered private practice for three years prior to pursuing an residency in anesthesia and pain management at Cornell University. She completed her residency and became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia in 2008.
Following her residency, she joined a specialty veterinary hospital in Chicago and was integral in establishing one of the first anesthesia and pain management departments in private practice. In 2013, Dr. Fischer joined the faculty at the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine where she taught veterinary as a Clinical Assistant Professor before moving to the East Coast. Dr. Fischer served as Head of Anesthesia and Pain Management at specialty hospitals in both New York and New Jersey prior to joining Eastern Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Center 2023 where she currently runs a busy pain management practice.
Dr. Fischer is the author of several veterinary anesthesia book chapters and has lectured both nationally and internationally. Since becoming boarded, she has continued her education becoming a certified canine rehabilitation practitioner and a certified veterinary acupuncturist. She remains dedicated to promoting and teaching anesthesia and pain management to the veterinary community.
