Brian Flesner

Dr. Brian Flesner is a board-certified specialist in veterinary oncology. Dr. Flesner graduated with honors from the University of Illinois with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine, and then completed a Master of Science degree from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine. His postdoctoral training started at the Veterinary Specialty Hospital in San Diego for his rotating small animal internship, and he completed his residency in medical oncology at the University of Missouri. Prior to joining PetDx, Dr. Flesner served as an Assistant Professor of Oncology at Louisiana State University and the University of Missouri, and then Associate Professor and Director of Oncology Clinical Trials at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Flesner’s research interests include classifying and understanding cancer pain in veterinary patients, expanding the comparative oncology potential of naturally occurring small animal cancers, and detecting cancer using minimally invasive techniques and prior to clinical signs. Outside of work, Brian enjoys being outdoors, helping take care of his family farm, and hanging out with his dogs – especially with his kayaking best friend, Roux.
