Dr. Mark de Wolde, DVM MRCVS, is a distinguished veterinary professional with over three decades of experience in various sectors, including veterinary practice, financial advisory, pharmaceuticals, real estate, and design-build projects. Born in Kingston, Canada, Dr. de Wolde graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College at the University of Guelph in 1993, where he received the American College of Veterinary Surgeons Award and the Hill’s Nutrition Award. His early career included externships at the Universiteit Utrecht in the Netherlands and part-time work in Biomedical Sciences. After practicing in Southern Ontario and internationally in England and New Zealand, Dr. de Wolde returned to Ontario in 2001. Over the next 15 years, he established five veterinary hospitals and co-founded the Upper Canada Veterinary Group Inc., focusing on the management and operational efficiency of veterinary practices. Dr. de Wolde is a co-founder of myVETgroup, a financial advisory firm for veterinary practice owners. He has also co-founded Nerve X Neurotechnology and is an Operating Partner at RoyalVet. He has served as the President of the Kingston Regional Pet Hospital Corporation and contributed as a contract investigator for the College of Veterinarians of Ontario. His consulting work has extended to numerous design-build projects in the veterinary field. He is an active member of the veterinary community, having been honored as Business Person of the Year and receiving the OVMA Award of Merit in 2018. He remains engaged in veterinary practice part-time with interests in management, business development, and orthopaedic surgery. Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. de Wolde is dedicated to his family and community. He and his wife Jessica have two sons and a household filled with rescued pets. The family actively supports various charities, including World Vision, NOMV, Vets Without Borders, Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, and the Canadian Cancer Society. Currently, the de Wolde family has 4 sponsored Ukrainian families who have been displaced by the war in Ukraine. Dr. de Wolde enjoys fitness, sports, movie watching, watch collecting, and exploring local and international cuisine.
