Dr. Zimmerman is a graduate of Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, and completed her clinical year at Louisiana State University. She completed a small animal rotating internship in Arizona, then a residency at Kansas State University in anesthesia and analgesia and became a Diplomate of the College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia. Dr. Zimmerman worked at a private referral hospital for several years, as both an anesthesiologist and Department Head of rehabilitation and pain management before starting her own practices. She is currently founder and owner of the The Doggy Gym LLC, a small animal veterinary pain management and physical rehabilitation practice and Elevate Anesthesia an anesthesia and pain management private consulting practice, that Specializes in case evaluation, clinical work, and educational opportunities including lectures and online education. Dr. Zimmerman frequently lectures across the country on pain management and small animal rehabilitation.
