Dr. Timothy Wu was born in and raised in Plano, Texas, and after finishing high school, moved to New York City to attend New York University (NYU) where he studied biology as an undergraduate, and completed a Master’s degree focused on comparative neuroanatomy. Dr. Wu then attended veterinary school at Cornell University and graduated in 2017. After graduation, Dr. Wu continued his studies in a residency in anatomic pathology, which he completed in 2020. He received his board certification in anatomic pathology in the following year. In 2024, he completed his PhD with Dr. Dwight Bowman, focusing on the host-parasite immune response and immunomodulatory mechanisms employed by the nematode genus Toxocara. Dr. Wu completed a residency program in clinical parasitology alongside his PhD in 2024, under the guidance of Dr. Mani Lejeune in the New York State Animal Health Diagnostic Center (AHDC), with sponsorship through the National Center for Veterinary Parasitology (NCVP) and IDEXX Laboratories, and received his board certification in veterinary parasitology in the same year. As a lecturer in veterinary parasitology with continued involvement in diagnostic pathology and parasitology, Dr. Wu is excited to be able to combine his passions for pathology, parasitology, and teaching in the training of future veterinarians and scientists.
